Sermon on Prayer
Introductory
Many sermons have been made on prayer, and many more will be made.
This is simply an introductory sermon on prayer.
This outline is primarily composed of Bible verses.
It is currently still under construction, but may nevertheless, be perused.

Ezekiel 14:20, "Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, says the Lord God,
they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls.
by their righteousness."
God very much listened to these three men, or he would not have used their names
in this context.
But how can we get to the place, where God will listen to us.
Not much is listed about Noah's prayer life.
We see a little more of Job's prayer life, or more specifically, how he worshipped God.
We see a little more of Job's prayer life, or more specifically, how he worshipped God.
Yet Daniel was renown for his prayer life.
Daniel 6:10, "... he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks
before his God. ..."
This was something he did routinely - day in, day out.
Jesus tells us,
Not everyone that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.
but he that does the will of my Father, which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name, done many wonderful works."
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
(Matthew 7:21-23).
How do we get to know God?
or
How does God get to know us?
By spending time with them.
Daniel did that.
Before we got married, my wife and I actually lived in different states.
We got to know each other in the sense, of what our personal beliefs were.
But we did not really learn about each other's personality, until after marriage.
So, in a sense, we did not get to know each other until them.
But God 'got to know Daniel', because Daniel spent much time with God.
The first step to prayer, is to purpose, to spend more time with God in prayer.
That is a decision each one of us, has to make for ourselves.
"He that is unmarried cares for the things that belong to the Lord,
how he may please the Lord." (1st. Corinthians 7:32b)
Daniel was a single guy. He had more time available to devote to prayer.
Those who are married, and have kids, and a regular job, don't have as much time
to pray. God knows that. Still, if you want God 'to know you.' purpose to find time
to pray.
