Genuine prayer is not to be thought of as a set of incantations

that manipulates God into doing something we want.

Prayer is also more than just making requests to God.

Rather, prayer is a line of communication that is open with the Creator God.

Nevertheless, with regards to our requests, God can still say,   Yes, No, Maybe, or Wait.”

As it is with many other relationships, the closer that we are to God –

i.e. the better that our rapport is with him - the more likely He will say “Yes”.

The above confidence in getting a “Yes” answer from Him, must be tempered with,

1) The attitude that we use when we approach God with our requests,          and

2) What lessons He wants to teach us, or those around us.
