7th.: Psalm 59, Part 1, I have Done no Wrong

God used Davids' victory over Goliath, to elevate David from being an obscure shepherd to being a leader in Israel.
The ladies of Israel praised David's victory. (1st Samuel 18:7-10)
This made King Saul jealous (see 1st Sam. 17:1- 1st Sam. 18:9).
One day, while David played a musical instrument, Saul threw a javelin at David.
But David escaped.
Saul then sent messengers to kill David (see 1st. Sam. 19:10-11).

David turned to God for help,
“Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God. Defend me from them that rise up against me.
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul. The mighty are gathered against me.
Not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O’ Lord. They run and prepare themselves without my fault.
Awake to help me, and behold. Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts,
the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen. Be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.” (Psalm 59:1-5).
In his request to God, David detailed his problems:

1) The men hunting David were trained soldiers.
2) David had done no wrong.
3) Be not nice to the people who wrongfully pursued him.

A friend (as God was to David) can help us best, when we give him the details of our plight,
and of what specific help we want (or don’t want) from Him.
