7th.: Heavenly and Global Fears

Jeremiah 10 begins with a warning on how signs of the heavens can scare the many people.
The heathen then make idols (false gods) to help them through their fears.

Jeremiah praised God with,
“Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord, thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? For to thee does it appertain, forasmuch ,
as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.” (Jer. 10:6-7).

God continued His conversation with Jeremiah in Jer. 10:8 with a casual tone of voice.
He agreed that the people were brutish and foolish.
Jer. 10: 11-13, the Lord told Jeremiah to remind the people that there is only one God,
who made the heavens and the earth, and that only in Him is there true power over the earth.

It behooves us to turn to the one true God, the creator of the universe, and the earth, to solve our global problems.

“Mine hand also has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spanned the heavens. When I call unto them, they stand up together.” (Isa 48:13)
*Is the 21st Century generation of people also afraid of the ‘signs of the heavens’,
in particular, the rise of CO2, and global warming? And in denying God,
they think that they can make an effectual change (like a false god?), without turning to the one true God.
