7th.: Hannah’s Eloquent Thanks - Made Rich
Hannah continues:
a. The Lord makes poor, and makes rich. (1st Sam. 2:7a)
b. He brings low, and lifts up. (1st Sam. 2:7b)
c. He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory, for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he has set the world upon them. (1st Sam. 2:8a)
Hannah had taken the chance that God would listen to her.
God responded by giving her a son.
Having the boy Samuel gave her much wealth.
It also elevated Hannah in the eyes of others.
Seeing her prayers answered, Hannah proclaimed that
God is the one who holds everyone’s destiny in His hands.
God took a poor, childless woman, destined for obscurity,
and elevated her for eternity.
That same God is ready to listen to us as well.
