6th.: How to Warn my People?
The Lord's judgements alarmed Jeremiah (see Jeremiah 6:1-9).
He wanted to warn the children of Benjamin to get out (see Jer. 6:1).
“To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear?
Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken.
Behold the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach, they have no delight in it.
Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord. I am weary with holding in.” (Jer. 6:10-11b).
Is Jeremiah coming to understand, and appreciate, the Lord’s heart, and wants the Lord to send him to
tell his fellowship countrymen to repent?
This could get us to ponder:
1. Are the prayers of our hearts identifying with the desire of our God, as in Jer. 6:10-11b?
2. Are we coming to an understanding of what God wants for humans in general?
3. Do we know what God wants genuinely biblical Christians to desire?
Once we know what God wants, we can then pray accordingly.
“Set your affection on things above, and not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” (Col. 3:2-3)
