5th.: They Called Upon the Name of the Lord

In the beginning, Adam and Eve had a good relationship with God.
They walked, and talked, and hung out together in harmony.
Then they ate from The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
As a result, they, and their descendants (i.e. us) began to learn what evil is like.
These lessons began, with getting cut-off from God, and Eden.

And they, and us, would continue to learn about evil - by having to live  through it.

Then the kids started coming. The Bible gives the exact timeline for only a few of Adam and Eve's descendents.
After 235 years, the grandson, Enos was born.
In those two generations, people drifted from the Lord.

The Bible tells us that at this time, "... began men to call upon the name of the Lord." (Genesis 4:26b)

The stories told by the grand folks Adam & Eve about the Garden of Eden,
and the falling-out with God, took on a fictional aura about them.

People knew God was there, but he felt distant.

Fast forwarding several millenia, Psalms 99:6, "Moses and Aaron among his priests,
and Samuel among them that call upon the Lord, and he answered them."

God did not seem to be answering the people of Adam's era.
But he answered Moses, Aaron and Samuel. To them, he was not distant.

Draw close to God, so that he answers.
