4th.: Hannah’s Eloquent Thanks - Rejoicing
Hannah begins,
“My heart rejoices in the Lord. Mine horn is exalted in the Lord.
My mouth is enlarged over mine enemies, because I rejoice in thy salvation.
There is none holy as the Lord, for there is none beside thee.
Neither is there any rock like our God.” (1st Sam. 2:1-2).
Pent up feelings make for strong emotions.
Having no child, produced those emotions.
When little Samuel, Hannah's frustrations turned to joy.
“My heart rejoices in the Lord.”
This released joy was equally strong.
God had delivered her from the taunts of the co-wife.
Furthermore, Hannah could tell the other wife to be quiet
(“My mouth is enlarged over mine enemies”).
Hannah reiterated that there is no one else like the Lord God.
Only God can save people from their problems, whatever those problems be.
And we can pour out our strong emotions to the Lord.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31a)
