31st.: They that Seek the Lord

The Israelites kept offending God.
In Exodus, chapter 32, the Israelites created an idol of gold.
God wanted his place of worship to be moved.
Moses had to move God’s tabernacle from the center of the Israelite camp to the outside.
(see Exo. 33:5, 7a).

Exodus 33:7b then commented,
“And it came to pass that everyone, which sought the Lord, went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.”

The Israelites who wanted to seek the Lord, had to go outside the camp.
Likewise, Jesus also suffered outside the Israelite camp,
"Wherefore, Jesus also that he might sanctify all people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.” (Heb. 13:12).

The writer of Hebrews tells us, “Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.” (Heb. 13:13).
To approach unto God, we must go outside the camp of human living – in a manner of speaking.
Another analogy is given in Matt. 7:13,
“Enter ye in at the strait gate, for wide the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.”
Whether through the wide gate, or staying in the camp, most people will go where the majority is.
If we want to come to God, we may have to come to Him on our own, because others won’t join us.
