2nd.: Hannah’s Eloquent Thanks - Intro
Continued from yesterday.
After hearing Eli’s reassurance,
Hannah went home with her husband, got pregnant, gave birth, and called the boy ‘Samuel’.
After weaning the boy*, Hannah took him to the tabernacle at Shiloh.
There, she told Eli:
1. She was the one who had made the fervent, yet silent, prayer request.
2. This young Samuel was the answer to those prayers.
3. She had promised the Lord that she would 'lend Samuel to the Lord', meaning she would leave him at the Jewish tabernacle to do the Lord’s work (1st Sam. 1:19-24).
Hannah then gave a long prayer of thanks.
Her prayer shall be discussed over the next several days.
