29th.: We Won't Listen to God

'Yesterday' Johanan and the other Israelites asked God (through the prophet Jeremiah) for advice.
However, they did not like what God said.
They therefore retorted,

“Thou speaks falsely. The Lord our God has not sent thee to say, ‘Go not into Egypt to sojourn there.’
But Baruch the son of Neriah sets thee on against us, for to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans
that they might put us to death, and carry us away into Babylon.” (Jer. 43:2b-3).

These people asked for God’s counsel, but not sincerely.
As a result, they no longer thought clearly.
Their foolishness even got them to flee to Egypt for what they thought would be safety. (Jer. 43:5-6).

Let us be among those who sincerely seek God’s response.

Return to Home
“Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again, ‘He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart,
that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.’” (John 1: 39-40)

“… walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened,
being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.” (Eph. 4:17b-18)
