29th.: Moses: Please God, No!

The Israelites were rebellious, and ungrateful.
This attitude angered God (Exo. 32:7-9).
God told Moses that he wanted to destroy the Israelites.
God also promised Moses that He would make Moses a great nation (Exodus 32:10).
Moses by-passed this honor.

Rather, he choose to rescue the Israelites.
He said to God:
1) “Wherefore should the Egyptians speak and say,
‘For mischief did he [God] bring them out to slay them in the mountain, and to consume them from the face of the Earth.” (Exo. 32:12).

(The Egyptians could say that you are a sadistic God, who only delights in playing with people, like a cat with a mouse).

2) “Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel to whom thou sware by thine own self, and said unto them,
“I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.” (Exo. 32:13).

(Moses asked God to remember the promises that He made to the patriarchs.)

God is rational. We can approach Him with well reasoned points, especially if those points uphold His honor.
