29th. Isaac's Well

Isaac moved around a lot.
After living a few years in Philistia, Isaac began digging various wells.
Unfortunately, the servants of Philistine king kept claiming each well Isaac had dug.
Eventually, the Philistines stopped claiming additional wells. Isaac called this last well ‘Rehoboth’.
Isaac then returned to Beersheba, or the Well of the Oath (Gen. 26:23).
The very night Isaac returned to Beersheba, God came to him and said, “I am the God of Abraham thy father. Fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.” (Gen. 26:24). This was a shorter version of the assurance God gave Isaac, when he first stayed in Philistia (Gen. 26:3-5).
But this shorter version reminded Isaac, “Fear not, for I am with thee.” “And he [Isaac] built an altar there, and called upon the name of the Lord.” (Gen. 26:25a).
It seems that Isaac was more touched by God’s reassurances of safety, than what God had earlier promised (Gen. 26:3-5).
We infer this, because Isaac built an altar, and called upon the name of the Lord, perhaps asking God for deliverance from the Philistines.
How have God’s words touched us?
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.” (Joel 2:23a)
