29th.: Hannah is Still Misunderstood
Hannah could get no break.
Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard.
herefore, Eli thought she had been drunken.
And Eli said unto her, ‘How long wilt thou be drunken? Put away thy wine from thee.’” (1st Sam. 1:12-14).
Hannah prayed fervently. Her troubles poured out of her heart to the Lord.
This time the high priest, Eli thought that she was drunk.
Sometimes, people misunderstand us when, and why, and (as in this case) how, we seek the Lord.
Nonetheless, we must press on with seeking the Lord - despite other people's misinterpretations.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of inheritance, for ye serve the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Col. 3:23-23)
