28th.: Meanwhile, Back in the Camp

God told Moses to come up into the mountain again. (Exodus 24:18)
Moses staid up there for 40 days and 40 nights.
While there, Moses received the instructions found in Exodus chapters 25- 31.

Meanwhile - the people grew restless.
They had not yet learned to ‘wait upon the Lord’, as it is written,
"‘And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount,
the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him,
‘Up make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses,
the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.’”

These people had already forgotten

1. What God had done to the Egyptian nation with the plagues (Exo. 6-12:30),
2. What God had done to the Egyptians at the Red Sea (Exo. 14:23-31).
3. How God had provided them food and water in the desert.
4. How God provided manna (the Israelites were bored with manna)

They foolishly chose to serve false gods, rather than the one true God, who continuously showed them His concern for them.

This generation of people had spurned God.
Individually, and corporately, let us remember what, and how, God has done for us, when we approach him, and wait for Him to answer.
