24th.: Oops, One Tribe is Missing

(Continued from yesterday.)

The war between Israel and the tribe Benjamin, devastated Benjamin.

“And the people came to the house of God, and abode there till even before the God,
and lifted up their voices, and wept sore, and said, ‘O Lord God of Israel,
why is this come to pass in Israel, that there should be to day one tribe lacking in Israel?’” (Judg. 21:2-3).
Only six hundred men survived.

Adding to the problem worse was that almost the whole nation of Israel,

“… had made a great oath concerning him that came not up to the Lord to Mizpeh,
… seeing we have sworn by the Lord that we will not give them of our daughters to wives.’” (Judg. 21:5-7).

Before the battle, the nation of Israel had made some rash vows.
So Israel asked God what to do.
Two solutions came to mind (Judg. 21:8-24) to keep the tribe of Benjamin from going extinct.

Even if we make a big blunder, we can still go to the Lord for help.
