24th.: Don’t Be Too Late to Ask

Jesus gave many parables.

In Luke 16:19-31, he contrasts a rich man and a poor beggar named Lazarus.
The rich man had a luxurious life.
Lazarus wondered where his next meal would come from.
In time, both died.

Lazarus went to heaven.
The rich man did not.

The now poor, old, formerly rich, man, begged Father Abraham,

“Have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue.” (Luke 16:24).

Luke 16:25-26 gave Abraham’s full response, which can be summarize as,
“No.”
The poor man further begged,

“I pray that thou would send him [Lazarus] to my father’s house; for I have five brethren that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.” (Luke 16:27-28).

Luke 16:29-31 gives Abraham’s second response was again:
“No.”
That man, and others like him, from that time forth, will always be told,
   “No”.
Ask the Lord for his grace, WHILE YOU STILL HAVE THE CHANCE.
Ask today. Ask now.
