24th.: Casting Down Strongholds

POLITICS are the activities associated with governing people.
Politicians often use the following techniques:
Discussion,
Persuasion,
Applying Pressure,
Gathering Votes,
Manipulating Rules,
‘Playing Hardball’,
Intimidation,
Threats etc.
These all rely on human ability to make changes.
In contrast, the apostle Paul tells us:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought to the obedience of Christ.”  (2nd Corinthians 10:4-5)

A Christian's weapons are not the carnal, politicking, weapons.
Rather, our weapons are ‘mighty through God’.
Meaning, we must go to God, and ask Him to work..
Once God has decided to work in some way, no one can successfully withstand Him. In effect, we rely on God to do the hard work of making changes in our lives.
We can bring to God’s attention the objections, sins, false ideas, bad habits, and other hindrances that prevent people, including our own selves, from being reconciled to God, and one another.
