22nd.: It is Easy to be Distracted

In Luke 12:1-12, Jesus preached on important subjects like:

Not being afraid of those who kill the body’, or
Denying vs professinging Jesus’,    and
Being charged with a crime for professing Jesus as Lord’.

Someone then blurted out,

“Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.” (Luke 12:13b).

Was this guy even listening?
He was like one absorbed by their cell phone.

Jesus responded, “And he [Jesus] said unto him, ‘Man, who made me a judge, or a divider over you?’” (Luke 12:14).
Moses had already established a court system to handle cases like this (see Exodus 18:24-27).
If this gentleman was so worried about this matter, he should have gone to those courts to resolve the issue.

How often do we sit in church, yet our minds are somewhere else?
How often do we sit down to pray, but then we get distracted by a thousand and one things, - and don’t actually pray? (It happens to me - alot)
There is a time to work on those things, but when it is time to pray, focus on the Lord.

If you get distracted, regroup, and get back with the Lord.
