21st.: Manoah: How to Handle Little Samson?
What to do with a strong willed child.
How do you ask for wisdom.
How do you ask for wisdom.
As long as he had long hair, Samson was so strong, no one could tell him 'no'.
(Judges chapters 14 through 16 details the uncontrollability of God’s deliverer, Samson.)
Even as a child, Samson could easily have been as strong, or stronger that his dad.
had problems teaching his son self-control.
If Manoah ever tried to physically manhandle Samson
into some form of corrective discipline, a strong-willed,
long-haired, three year old, Samson, could easily have
gotten out of the punishment. And Manoah was not
about to cut Samson’s hair, because the angel had told
him not to (Judges 13:5b).
Nor is it recorded where Manoah
asked the Lord for help with his son.
What can we learn from this?
Manoah might not have ask the Lord for help,
But, we can!
Get God's input for our lives and responsibilities.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all liberally, and upbraids not, and it shall be given him.” (James 1:5)
