20th.: Psalm 26, That Ye Might Walk Worthy

All of us have offended the Lord.
Some are prone to commit some sins.
Others are prone to commit other sins.
Unfortunately, we often don’t want to be told about our sins.

Yet, David pleaded,
“Judge me, O Lord. For I have walked in mine integrity;
I have trusted also in the Lord. Therefore I shall not slide.
Examine me, O Lord, and prove me. Try my reins and my heart.” (Ps. 26:1-2).

David thought that he was a good guy.
Yet, he wanted the Lord to test his responsiveness.

Why??
David told us, “For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes.” (Ps. 26:3a).
David liked the richness of God's friendship. David also let God know that he did not need to ‘fear God’,
because, “I have walked in thy truth. I have not sat with vain persons. Neither will I go in with dissemblers.
I have hated the congregation of evil doers, and will not sit with the wicked.” (Ps. 26:3b).

David had not tainted himself with shameful actions.
He had not stained his life with the common actions that drive a wedge between us and God.
Rather, David prayed, “I will wash my hands in innocency, so will I compass thine altar, O Lord.” (Ps. 26:6).

Up to the time of this writing, David carefully chose what he did.
He did not want his actions to hinder God’s favor at any time;
