20th.: Isaiah’s Answers

For many years, the prophet Isaiah proclaimed the word of the Lord.
All of a sudden, he saw a vision.
God sat on His throne.
Seeing God’s glory shining, caused Isaiah to see his own evilness (see Isaiah 6:1-7).
After an angel cleansed his mouth, Isaiah and the Lord had the following conversation (Isaiah 6:8-11b):

The Lord: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”

Isaiah: “Here am I, send me.”

The Lord: “And he said, “Go and tell this people, ‘Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. …’”

Isaiah: Then said I, ‘How long’

The Lord: And he said, ‘Until the cities be wasted … ’”.

Isaiah volunteered to go.
This did not keep Isaiah from planning ahead by asking "How long?"
God was not offended.
Likewise, we can ask God clarifying questions.
