Hannah’s Peace

Continued from June 30th.

Remembering 1st. Samuel 1:9-16.
Hannah's lips moved furiously, but no sounds came.

Eli, the high priest told her to stop drinking alcohol.

Hannah soberly replied that she was only praying.

Eli replied, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou has asked of Him.” (1st Sam. 1:17).

Hannah took Eli’s comment to be an utterance from the Lord.
She answered, “’Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight.’
So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance
was no more sad.” (1st Sam. 1:18).

She went away with the peace that God would address her trouble.
We too can have peace with God's answer.

“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
