18th.: Manoah shall have a boy, Samson

A man named Manoah had a wife.
She could not have children.
An angel came to her.
He told her about a child she would soon have.
Part of the instruction was that the son was to begin delivering Israel from the Philistines (Judg. 13:5).

After the angel left, she told her husband.
Her husband  asked God.
“Then Manoah intreated the Lord, and said, ‘O my Lord, let the man of God come again unto us,
and teach us what we shall do unto the child, that shall be born.’” (Judg. 13:8).
Manoah did not disbelieve his wife’s account.

But he did want to see this angel for himself.
“And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah.” (Judg. 13:9a).
The angel appeared a second time to Manoah’s wife, and she fetched her husband.
The angel repeated the initial instructions (see Judg. 13:13-14).
God did not mind repeating the instructions.
This would have been a good time for Manoah to ask any specific questions to help fulfill the given command.
Unfortunately, such questions don’t always come to mind in those kind of moments.
Fortunately, we can go to the Lord anytime, with any follow-on questions we may have.
