18th.: Ever Ready to Pray
Aaron, and Miriam were always with Moses, as
God had him lead Israel out of Egypt (see Micah 6:4).
Then, out of no where, Aaron, and Miriam claimed positions of respectability with,
“Has the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? Has he not spoken also by us?” (Num. 12:2b).
The Lord heard Aaron's and Miriam's claims. (Num. 12:2c).
He called out Aaron, Moses, and Miriam (Num. 12:4-5).
God let them know that He is the one who determines who the prophets are - and it was not them (Num. 12:6-8).
Aaron, and Miriam had just gotten themselves in trouble.
God punished them by giving Miriam leprousy (Num. 12:9-10).
Aaron called to Moses for help (Num. 12:11-12).
Moses took no offense that his ‘authority’ was challenged.
Rather, Moses asked the Lord to heal Miriam (Num. 12:13)., which God granted.
To emphasize their offense, Miriam had to stay outside the camp for a few days (Num. 12:14-16).
Moses had to remain ever ready to pray for those under his responsibility, especially when they got in trouble.
Sometimes, they were his jealous family members.
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” (Eph. 6:18)
