17th.: Where are the Donkeys?

A man named Kish, gave his son Saul a job to do.
He had to find missing donkeys (1st Sam. 9:1-3).
After several days, Saul (and his servant) could not find the donkeys.
So they went to where the prophet, Samuel, lived.
They thought Samuel would know.  (1st Sam. 9:4-6).
According to 1st Sam. 9:9a,
“When a man went to inquire of God, thus he spake, ‘Come, and let us go to the seer.’”
People would go to a seer, a.k.a. a prophet, to ask God for whatever was concerning them.

In a manner of speaking, Saul had decided to ask God about such a mundane thing as finding where certain donkeys went.

We too can ask God to help us with our mundane requests,
such as helping us find something, which we have misplaced.
By helping us with the little things of life, God builds in us memories of God helping us.
Then, when the big concerns of life come into our lives, we are reminded when God helped us in the little things. We now have another basis to trust God to help us with the bigger events. Besides, God just likes it, when we come to Him with our worries, big or small.
