13th.: Identify & List Your Concerns, Part 1
Moses was wore out.
The people’s complaining took it out of him.
Moses took this burden to the Lord (Num. 11:11-15).
He asked:
1) Why have you afflicted thy servant?
2) And why have I not found favor in thy sight that thou lays the burden of all this people upon me?
3) Have I conceived all this people? Have I begotten them that thou should say unto me, ‘Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father bears the sucking child, unto the land which thou sware unto their fathers?’
4) From where should I have flesh to give unto all this people, for they weep unto me saying, ‘Give us flesh that we may eat?’
5) I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.”
6) And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favor in thy sight,
7) And let me not see my wretchedness.
It is good when we can identify, and list, our concerns to the Lord.
We don’t have to ad-lib our concerns. Instead, we can first write them down, before taking them to the Lord.
Moses’ points shall be discussed over the next few days.
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.
He shall never suffer [permit] the righteous to be moved” (Ps. 55:22)
