13th.: Gideon - The Enemy’s Prophecy

With the reassurance of the dry fleece, Gideon, and his 32,000 (see Judg. 7:3c)
man army encamped very close to the Midianites (Judg. 7:1).
The Lord then told Gideon to send most of his army home, because he didn't want the Israelites bragging
about how great they were (see Judg. 7:2bc)).

This left Gideon with 300 soldiers (Judg. 7:2-8).
The Lord then told Gideon, “Arise, get thee down unto the host, for I have delivered it into thine hand.
But if thou fear to go down, go thou with Phurah thy servant down to the host.
And thou shalt hear what they say, and afterward shall thine hands be strengthened to go down to the host.” (Judg. 7:9-11a).

Doing a 300 man frontal assault against thousands of enemy troups is normally suicide.
Nevertheless, Gideon believed God enough that he proceeded to sneak up to the enemy camp.
He heard two of the Midianites talking.
One told the other a dream that he had had.
The other interpreted that dream to mean that Gideon would win (Judg. 7:11b-15).
With this supernatural reassurance, Gideon briefed his commando team about what to do.
God gave them a great victory (Judg. 7:16-8:25).
Even now, we may sometimes need multiple reassurances from God.
God will give us those reassurances, if we will trust him.
