12th.: God Shall Help Widows and Orphans
God has a special place in his heart for widows.
We see this in Exo. 22:22-24,
“You shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
If you afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me,
I will surely hear their cry; and my wrath shall wax hot,
and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.”
God will provide divine protection for a widow, and fatherless children - if they ask for it.
Going to the extreme opposite case, the prophet Isaiah mentioned a time in Israel,
when God said that He would not have mercy on the fatherless and widows,
because “everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly.: (Isaiah 9:17b.
