12th.: Gideon’s Dry Fleece

As Gideon wrung out the wet fleece, he realized that a fleece could naturally retain water (Judg 6:38),
even after the ground has dried out.
In other words, no supernatural action need to have taken  place.

Therefore he asked God a follow-on request,
“Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak, but this once. Let me prove, I pray thee,
but this once with the fleece. Let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground, let there be dew.” (Judg. 6:39).

Gideon started by being very respectful toward God. He did not want to come across as trying to talk his way out of a job.
But Gideon did want to see a SUPERNATURAL sign to verify that God had indeed told him to attack the Midianites.

Again, God did as he asked (Judg. 6:40).
This supernatural demonstration reassured Gideon that God wanted him to attack the Midianites.
There may be times when we need such a sign from God.
