11th.: Psalm 57, In the Shadow of Thy Wings
King Saul was looking (in a bad way) for David.
Yet David had an established history of God helping him.
He therefore drew on this, as he prayed.
“Be merciful unto me, O God.
Be merciful unto me, for my soul trusts in thee.
Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be over past.
I will cry unto God most high, unto God that performs all things for me.
He shall send from heaven and save me, from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah.
God shall send forth his mercy, and his truth.” (Ps. 57:1-3).
David gave the following reason:
1) Because David trusted God and turned to Him for help.
Maybe we don't have a history of seeking God.
But we can begin.
Let us regularly seek God, so that He does want to help us.
Return to Home“And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee.
For thou, Lord, has not forsaken them that seek thee.” (Ps. 9:10)
